summer time.

we drove out to victoria this summer where i began my masters at the university of victoria. on our drive (!) we were able to connect our families. blessing. school itself was great. adrian did a fair bit of exploring on his own. the pictoral summary can be seen below.

exhibit a for why i now like camping: laminate floors in the outhouses. other exhibits represented that lack of bugs and tetra pack %^&( milk. that stuff is sick.

kinda a precarious little outfit they had running here- no guard rails or anything to walk out there to see the petroglyphs, just subtle advise to remove the flip flops. thanks for that.

back in sk. and the best a&w locale anywhere.

though miniscule in pixel size, this picture with emma (zane and renee's daughter) represents approximately five hours spent on the trampoline in a 12 hour period. couldn't really walk the next day.

max's graduation. can't see it in the picture but he was carrying/using/dropping a brass cane with a bald eagle head.

family pic. yah. pretty cool.

emma (zane and renee's daughter). so friggin' cute.

meeting james (zane and renee's son). that kid is where it's at.

waterfest 2007.

goodness is she ever cute.

water station (give me a break- i can't be witty on all these captions. seriously).

members of club zero. (emily- nicole and david's daughter).

good looking fellas. (luke- nicole and david's son).

random moment with luke and emily.

perhaps my favorite video clip of all time. after seeing this my team created a cheer they use before every practice.

going fishing with zane and renee. adrian lost zane's lucky lure in the reeds on his first cast. atta boy.

totally ready to reel in the big cahuna. kahuna?

[aside: adrian is sitting here beside me pressuring me to be funny]..... ummm..... [he is now making stupid suggestions].

me and my beautiful sista renee.

koen (chad and roberta's son). pretty sure he's doing either a flower impression or he is being held up. cute stuff. neat.

jonas (chad and roberta's son). oh isn't that precious.

good bonding time. with our influence these boys are sure to turn out a little bit... off.

chad and roberta looking very happy as we are leaving.

getting a tour of victoria in a 67ish convertible of some type of american car. [apparently it is a buick, but i trust my readership to not care what kind of car we were in... i mean i don't really hang out with those kind of people...not that there is anything wrong with those kind of people... err... i mean i love you guys?]

view from a five hour hike we did.

adrian standing on the edge of a cliff pretending he's falling and in so doing provoking very immoral words on the tip of my tongue to be thought of so that he would know that i am seriously freaking out. it didn't come down to that. thank goodness his mother wasn't there- it would have been even worse.

adrian bought this foldable hat for $2.99 in chinatown prior to our hike. pretty flashy.

adrian and jordan on the cusp of (you know what, not sure how to end that sentence. i mean who uses cusp in a sentence properly? not i.)

waiting for the big wave.

me and a big tree.

drinking my usual at the beachside starbucks. 5 minute walk from our place.

adrian just shut down my idea for this captain with the verbal equivalent of the sarcastic clap. sometimes i cry at night after he falls asleep.

we stopped at an island for a picnic lunch courtesy of one a dyck.

there is the crazy rabbit infestation at uvic. makes you wonder if harvesting them for supper would go unnoticed.

adrian suggested i write: eat your heart out ugly couples.

big hands i know you're the one.

some of the plants at the empress hotel looked a little thirsty. (KIDDING)

we were able to spend a weekend with all of adrian's family. picnic by mom and ultimate croquet were two highlights.

the boys.

next summer lizanne will join us in the sibling shot. welcome friend that we have not met!

the obligatory family picture. adrian never looks normal in these. sorry honey. it's true.

we were able to finally physically celebrate one of our nephews birthday's. adrian was thrilled.

me and some really big rhubarb.

got to hang out with christy, john and alexander for a day on some very parched grass.

hanging out with emma on our drive back to on.

and with jamie too.

allnighter with luke and emily. didn't realize that saying 'i will stay awake as long as you want' meant 3:30am. insanity. but precious insanity.

getting back onto the 401 in toronto was like a breath of fresh air... almost home. unfortunately due to the smog that day, the breath of fresh air was more figurative and much less literal.
